Gun  Control Folly
02/18/2018

The tragedy of the Florida shooting is being compounded by the predictable hysterical rush to demand “something” be done about gun control, just as it has been after each previous mass shooting. The problem is that no one has any idea what that “something” is, and no one has been able to propose additional laws which would have prevented even one of these mass shootings. These emotional rants against guns and the accompanying demonization of the NRA (an organization that promotes gun safety and education) only serve to mask the real reason for these shootings and it is not guns.

In fact, there have been properly used guns throughout American history, and legal gun ownership is still common in areas that have not seen a rise in gun violence.

Here are the real problems we need to address, if we want to stop these mass killings.

1. The rise in gun violence corresponds with liberal attempts to drive religion and personal responsibility out of the culture.  The media and Democrats line up to ridicule Christians and their moral values. They demand that religious symbols be removed from the public square and public schools while demanding the firing of coaches who exercise their constitutional rights to pray. They use our tax dollars to indoctrinate our children against God and for mindless group think. They teach that it takes a village instead of personal and parental responsibility. Their guiding principle has been, “If it feels good, do it”, and yet they are quick to blame guns when a shooter takes their advice and “does it”.

2. It is difficult to square the liberal outrage over shooting when they show children it is ok to butcher a million little humans each year. Until we value all life, we devalue all life in the eyes of impressionable young minds.

3. We have given into the demands of children to lower the voting age, the driving age and the drinking age far below the age at which their brains are fully developed. A 19 year old cannot be counted on to responsibly buy and own a gun without adult supervision to verify responsible use based on the maturity and stability of each individual. If we want to stop kids from killing kids, we need to get the legal ages for these life threatening events more in line with the ability of their minds to handle these responsibility.

4. We need to dial back the divisive rhetoric that permeates discussion today. We have turned children into spoiled, demanding and entitled snowflakes who are more into selfies and self centered pursuits than compassion and positive human interaction. They have been cultivated to think free speech is for anyone who agrees with them, but not for others who have rational opposing views. They are against violence, unless it is directed against those who differ with them in which case they feel any amount of violence, rioting, and intimidation is justified. They do not recognize that legitimate (or illegitimate) protest does not give them the right to break the law. These mass shooters are just protesters one step removed from those who feel justified in blocking streets and burning public property. The liberal media feeds the divisiveness with misplaced hateful blame, uninformed emotional tirades, and spreading faulty statistics and talking points.

5. We already have laws against murder so how are more gun control laws going deter a want-a-be killer that current laws don’t?

6. We need to realize that sex and violence are common themes in the entertainment industry, the very same industry that ironically promotes the ineffective gun control, but not their own self control.

7. We must recognize that no amount of gun control will address the problems of the mentally ill which is a difficult problem in its own right.

8. Finally, we need to stop the diverting of police and other government agencies into wasting time on partisan witch hunts which keep them from having time to follow up on real criminal activity and leads.

Basic Education for Liberals
2/2/18

To Berkeley Students, Antifa, "Dreamers", Buttercups and Snowflakes everywhere:

1 Rioting is not a protest. It is a crime!

2. Fascists burn books, use violence to intimidate, and suppress the free speech of others. Trump supporters are not fascists. You are!

3. Your signs say “This is War”. You don’t know what real war is until a fanatic tries to cut your head off. Trust me you don’t want “war” because real Americans will kick your butts.

4. Police are not your enemies, so why do you attack them?

5. You are dups of people who get rich keeping you stupid, and you take out excessive student loans to gladly pay them for the privilege.

6. You have more access to wealth, information, and meaningful education than any group of people in all of history and all across the world today. All you have to do is work hard and think smart instead of chanting meaningless slogans. Why are you trying to destroy the world that gives you so much opportunity?

7. Views which are different from yours are not “hate speech”! In fact, you loosely throwing around terms like “homophobe”, “xenophobe”, “racist”, “fascist”, “white privilege” and “climate change denier” are actually real “hate” speech! Furthermore, beating up Trump supporters in the street or blocking people from an event because you don’t like the message certainly is not love.

8. There are no “safe spaces” in the real world. The sooner you learn that, the safer, happier, and more prosperous you will be.

9. Wages are determined by the value you provide to your boss and the product he provides to customers. They cannot be set by some big government bureaucrat in conflict with the economic Law of Supply and Demand. Furthermore, your employer has absolutely no obligation to provide you your every desire or to support your chosen lifestyle. If you need to earn more, you need to make yourself more valuable, not demand more from others! Your economic illiteracy or that of your professors will never change economic reality!

9. There is no market for “gender studies”, “women’s studies”, “gay studies”, basket weaving, or horse shoeing even though they free up your time to party and be outraged. You also have no right to sensitivity, diversity, or inclusion especially when you are insensitive to the positions of others, when you are for diversity as long as everyone feels the way you do, or when you "inclusively" exclude those you disagree with from expressing their views.

10. You have no right to rewrite history or subvert the language, and finally,

11. Your beloved “socialism” is nothing but a romantic liberal myth with a track record unblemished by success!

Russians Back Trump?
7/12/17

All this Democrat and media hysteria claiming Russia interfered in the election on behalf of Donald Trump does not pass muster.
-
Who allowed Russia to take over the Crimea and much of the Ukraine? Clinton and Obama
-
Who used a reset button with Russia? Clinton and Obama
-
Who gave the Russians 20% of the US uranium supply? Clinton and Obama
-
Who showed they were indecisive in making critical decisions in Benghazi and with the Syrian red line which helped expand the Russian sphere of influence? Clinton and Obama
-
Whose actions put highly classified information in the hands of the Russians? Clinton and Obama
-
Who violated basic security laws in setting up a private email server that Russians were able to hack? Clinton with Obama tacit support
-
Who said tell Vlad I will have more flexibility after I am reelected? Obama
-
Who spent four years as SoS influence peddling around the world showing she could be bought? Clinton with Obama tacit support
-
Who gutted US military strength? Obama, Clinton, and Democrats
-
Who protected sensitive DNC information on their criminal activity with a password of “password”? Clinton campaign manager Podesta
-
Who knew of Russian attempts to disrupt the US elections and did nothing to stop them before Trump won? Obama
-
So if you were Putin, would you prefer Clinton, a weak self serving personality who had a record of indecisiveness, being played but the Russians, and being paid off by everyone; or a strong leader like Trump who would hold Russia accountable and make America great again?
-
Come on! Tell me with a straight face that the Russians backed Trump! The Russians are much smarter than that, but apparently liberals are not!

Why Trump Got Elected!
6/14/17

Like many of us who voted for Trump, I am tired of the constant vile, deranged, uncivil, unfounded, vicious, and hyper hypocritical attacks on myself and Trump. So let me help you understand the real reason Hillary lost and Trump won.
-
Liberals seem intent on destroying everything that has made America the greatest nation in the history of the world, replacing them with illogical naïve philosophies that have been tried over and over with a record unblemished by success.
-
You have flooded the courts with judges that share your disrespect for the rule of law and the constitution. You call the constitution a “living” document by which you really mean it is whatever you wanted it to be. You shamelessly demean the very police and military who keep us safe as a society. You have disparaged civil discourse and instead encouraged rioting and shouting down anyone who does not agree with you. You readily forgive gross liberal corruption and lawlessness, but with ease attack the character of those with values consistent with an orderly, productive society. You have discouraged self reliance and individual responsibility that have made America great. Through subverting the educational system, you have transformed our precious children into sniveling snowflakes hiding in imaginary “safe spaces”, afraid of having to defend the lies they have been indoctrinated with. You have replaced key knowledge in science, math, and history with “social” justice, irrelevant worthless degrees in “xxxx studies”. You perverted the language by demanding that “free speech” should really be freedom from speech you disagree with, or that marriage is the casual arrangement of any number of people and or things rather than its historical recognition as the special bond between a man and a woman. You have panicked the ill informed with rumors of global warming and climate change while undermining the rigor of the scientific method.
-
You have made millions dependent on government, devoid of the concept of personal responsibility. Your “if it feels good, do it” philosophy has resulted in the wanton slaughter of millions of little humans which you try to hide under the banner of “reproductive rights” and parental planning. In fact, you claim everything is a “right” with no regard for personal responsibility. As a result, you have encouraged the widespread demand for unsustainable and unaffordable “wants” as “”rights”. You claim everyone should have the right to whatever free stuff they feel like and that I should have to pay for it. You tout big government as the solution to all problems which has proven to be the real cause of many ills of today’s society. You have promoted “open” borders and sanctuary cities which have turned our once proud major cities into battle zones and decay. You block voter ids so you can stuff the ballot boxes and oppose the wall while you hide behind armed guards and your own personal fortresses. Liberals have completely severed the link between spending and income driving up hugh deficits. You see more taxes stolen from hard working Americans as the solution to all problems (at least all of your own problems). You have turned the fourth estate into a sniveling, sycophantic liberal propaganda machine that has now lost most of its value to the republic. Rather than openly debate your ideas, you revert to personal attacks. You have over used the terms like racists, homophobe, islamaphobe, and sexist to the extent that you have diluted their real meaning and impact. In the end, your own personal power seems to be your justification and motivation for anything you choose to do which is not the way I want to live.
-
So it is not the Russians or any Trump conspiracy that caused the Democrat downfall in 2016, but rather a bad candidate with a message of big government excess that has produced failure after failure on the backs of hardworking Americans who have been forced to endure paying for an increasing mass of freeloaders and malcontents. We simply did not want another establishment president getting rich off lying to the people, dividing Americans, and selectively enforcing the law. We voted for Trump because he promised to stand up to the establishment and get America back on the track to greatness
-
All this continued whining and misplaced blaming from Clinton and the disrespectful deranged treatment of our president only reinforce our choice of Trump. Now grow up and go away!

Boils Down to This!
110716

I need to remind everyone something they should already instinctively know, but which half the population appears to have forgotten.

This presidential election is not a student council popularity contest, it is not about whom you like, nor is it about what kind of underwear they use, what empty promises they make, what worn out platitudes they make, or your own “feelings”. It is about policies not perfect personalities. It boils down to the very serious selection of the person who can best lead the country, manage the federal government, and uphold the rule of law and the constitution.

Hillary Clinton claims to have over thirty years experience, but it is experience marked by failure and no accomplishment. If she had learned from any of her many failures, she might have an argument, but instead she invested her time in denial and cover up. In Benghazi, she showed she is indecisive and dishonest. Her email server was set up to illegally hide her pay to play schemes. She was careless in protecting America’s sensitive information, a mistake that prohibits second chances. Her foreign policy gave us ISIS which has spread terrorism directly to American shores,  she has ruined America’s role in world leadership, she has set the Mid East on fire, and sacrificed Syria, Crimea, Ukraine, and 20% of US uranium supplies. She has subordinated US interests to those of the highest international bidder and pocketed the payoffs. She has committed multiple felonies but has also so corrupted federal agencies that she is now considered above the law. If she is rewarded with the presidency with her record of criminal activity, it is logical to conclude that the constitution and the rule of law will be subverted and transparent government will disappear to be replaced by mass corruption. Clinton claims to be an advocate for children yet she blocks school choice because the unions pay more. She also advocates the murder of little humans up to the day they are born and expects those with moral objections to pay for these heinous crimes.  Clinton blames police first and supports inane rules of engagement that get US troops killed by an enemy she won’t even name. To her, the military is nothing more than a laboratory for social experimentation. She advocates mass importation of illegals and refugees even though no reliable mechanism to keep out terrorists and criminals exists. She is for open borders ad against protecting legal American voters with rational voter id policies for the sole purpose of locking in unearned Democrat election victories. She is for higher taxes, less accountability, and more government meddling regulation burdens. She is the one percent that she publicly denounces. She is in bed with Wall Street elites in practice while demonizing them for personal political gain. Clinton’s presidential bid boils down to bigger, more inefficient, more corrupt government.

Donald Trump has no political experience or record which may be an advantage for someone trying to “drain the swamp” which no “experienced” politician has been able to accomplish. He is nowhere near politically correct relying more on common sense and direct talk rather than name games and over sensitivity! He knows congressional term limits are needed to restore a government of, by, and for the people. He recognizes that no country can exist without well defined, secure borders. He is a successful business man who knows how to build and how to create jobs. He knows weakness does not make us safe. He also knows that the greatness of the US which guarantees our personal freedom and prosperity is because of its unique constitution and the rule of law for everyone. Trump does frequently play into the hands of a corrupt Clinton loving media who eagerly distort his words. He bluntness sometimes hurts feelings, but not near as much as the real damage done by Clinton’s failed leftist policies and her own brand of influence peddling. A summary of Trump’s presidential bid is that he is a brash unconventional candidate who at his worst is still better than Clinton at her best. He is the one last hope of saving and restoring the greatness of America!

Cast your vote wisely because your future depends on it.

To vote or not to vote, 2016?
101016

Some people have indicated that they will not be voting in this presidential election because of dissatisfaction with both candidates. I am not one of those people for a number of reasons.

1. Perfection is not on the ballot. Only one of two choices will be elected. Either it will be Hillary Clinton with her extensive failed record of incompetence and dishonesty or Donald Trump, a brash, out spoken businessman whose future performance as a president is somewhat unpredictable. Unfortunately, one will continue the pressure to scrap our constitutional government and the rule of law; the other is a relatively unknown in performing in political circles. None-of-the-above will not be the next president.

2. Informed voting is not just a right, but an important responsibility of citizenship. Voting between good and bad is easy. It is making the difficult choices between two flawed candidates that is the real test of the citizen voter. I will not shun my right and responsibility as a citizen, nor will I ignore the fundamental difference in the world these two candidates will create just because neither ideally fits all of my values.

3. This is not an emotional popularity contest for student council. It is a critical election to select the next leader of the free world, and more importantly, to select a leader for this unique nation who can bring on prosperity and safety for its citizens. I will vote because I realize that the two candidates represent entirely different visions for the country.

4. Donald Trump is both bold and braggadocios. At times he is cast as a bully and even an insensitive pig. On the other hand, he is a successful businessman in a decidedly anti-business environment. He understands economics and the value of the rule of law. He knows how to build and how to organize to get things done. He knows taxes are too high, government regulations too burdensome, and the federal bureaucracy too large and inefficient. Trump knows that American strength is the only hope for a peaceful world. Furthermore, fixing the federal government will not be done by PC speaking establishment wimps from either party. It will take a strong personality to change the errant course the nation has drifted into in the last eight years. So while he has some highly undesirable personal traits and his real sustained core values are still unclear, I will be voting for Donald Trump.

5. I will also be voting against Hillary Clinton. She has had over thirty years in Washington with no noteworthy accomplishments and no record of fixing any of the ills she now complains about. She has only succeeded in using her various government positions to enrich herself and her elite friends.  Her abject foreign policy failures have left the Middle East in chaos, allowed unchecked Russian and Chinese expansionism, and her premature pull out from Iraq created the vacuum necessary for the rise of ISIS terrorism which she now wants to mass import into the US. Libya, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Crimea are just a few examples of the disastrous foreign policy failures on her watch. The incident in Benghazi illustrates her unsuitability for the commander-in-chief role in 3 ways. First, she sent Americans into harm’s way without adequate protection even though it was repeatedly requested. Second, she failed to respond in a meaningful way throughout the extended attack which cost the lives of four Americans (her 3 am call came and she failed to answer it!), and thirdly, she covered up her incompetence with massive fraud on the American people and the families of the dead over their very caskets. She also presided over the Russian “Reset” and the Syrian “Red Line in the Sand” which set the stage for chaos around the world. Her tax and spend policies are pure anti-American socialism. Her empty promises of free stuff to buy votes are cynical at best. She is guilty of multiple felonies which would have landed anyone else in jail or at least caused a humble resignation. Instead she subverted the reputations of the FBI, the State Department, and the Justice Department to put herself above the rule of law then had the nerve to say “what difference does it make now!” Her motives in illegally setting up her own email server were clearly to subvert the accountability of the Freedom of Information Act and to cover up her influence peddling. Isn’t it a logical expectation that putting an unaccountable criminal in the White House will produce at best a corrupt, unaccountable government? She continuously attacks Wall Street and the one per centers in public while pandering to them behind the scenes. She is for unsecured open borders and amnesty, while being against preserving rational voter identification. She favors the racism of Black Lives Matter over the difficult job of police in upholding the law and our day-to-day safety. She claims that climate change, a well worn liberal fraud, is a greater threat to the US than Islamic terrorists and she cannot even speak the name of our active Islamic enemy.  She is simply corruption wrapped in incompetence wrapped in a continuous stream of lies; therefore, I will take my chances with Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. At his worst, he is better than Clinton's best!

6. There are several other reasons I must vote for Donald Trump.  First, there is the Supreme Court where the next president will appoint between one and four new justices. Even one more rubber stamp liberal justice will negate any semblance of a continued constitutional republic. Second, I will not allow myself to be manipulated by the main stream liberal media who have turned into nothing more than Democrat cheerleaders who have no problem distorting the truth to advance their elitist leftist agenda unblemished by any success.  I also don’t want a serial abuser of women wandering the halls of the White House for four years with nothing to do but look for cigars and female interns. Finally, not voting only amplifies the power of voter fraud to control our destiny.

So I will exercise my responsibility as a citizen to vote.  I will vote for Donald Trump, not because he is anywhere near an ideal candidate, but because he is the only chance we have to save the Republic and assure our future freedom, safety, and prosperity.

Minimum Wage Debunk
033016

Governor Brown and the Democrat state legislature this week removed any doubt that they are economic illiterates pandering to uninformed, feelings based popular opinion. Their plan to boost the minimum wage in California to $15 an hour will kill jobs; diminish the competitiveness of California companies; ship jobs and companies to other states; and hurt seniors and others on fixed incomes through the resulting increase in inflation. Like other liberal initiatives, raising the minimum wage will surprise the left with its predictable unintended consequences.

Here are the factual reasons why this state government has set in motion the economic collapse of California in one misguided action:

1. The Law of Supply and Demand is a basic concept in economics. It logically shows that as the cost of an item increases, the demand will fall. In this case the item is labor and the fall in demand is lost jobs. Similarly as the cost of California products increases as the result of increased labor costs, demand for these products decreases to the extent that businesses must close or relocate out of state or out of country.

2. There is no foundation in American free markets for employers being responsible for funding employee life styles at any level the employee chooses; rather, employees are paid for the value they contribute to the production of the employer's products or services. Wages are increased by improving productivity, improving skills, or by increased competition for skilled labor, not by arbitrary government interference.

3. No business can afford to pay $15 an hour for unskilled employees who cannot even make correct change. This hints at the real problem, the increasing number of potential workers who do not have basic skills. It is the worker's responsibility to enhance their skills and value to their employer if they want to increase their wages. Unfortunately the liberal led education system and leftist philosophy have let California workers down in this regard.

4. Skilled workers will logically demand pay increases so they are not paid less than unskilled workers. This will drive wages up across the board, and with less goods produced, the predictable result is runaway inflation.  A key question for state officials is "why do you hate seniors?" because a 50% increase in labor cost can decrease the buying power for those already struggling on fixed incomes by close to 50%.

5. This minimum wage increase also deprives students of entry level jobs where they can master the basic skills required for success in the workplace. Employers will no longer be able to afford to fund what is essentially paid on-the-job training. This leaves more unemployed young people idle on the streets and removes a vital link in the development of productive employees.

6. There are other more subtle impacts of this increase. One is longer lines and longer wait times in every store and restaurant as employers are forced to cut employees to make up for the wage increases. A 50% increase in labor costs also makes investment in automation more viable, again killing jobs. Furthermore as more business fail or move out of state, there will be less goods and services available to California citizens.

7. Short sighted politicians see an increase in the minimum wage as a quick fix for their undisciplined spending in two ways. First, driving up wages drives up taxable income and drives tax payers into higher tax brackets. Second, the resulting inflation makes it easier for the government to pay down debt with inflation devalued money. They miss the reality that the inevitable loss of jobs and business puts the economy and government revenues into a death spiral. Their response is predictable; just raise taxes, already among the highest in the world, to cover the shortfall. Unfortunately, this standard liberal sop only accelerates the death spiral.

8. A minimum wage increase actually hurts those workers the liberals seem so concerned about, and not just because of fewer jobs. Any increase in income for those lucky enough to keep their job is at best temporary as salaries and prices will naturally adjust upward for everyone else. As a result there is no real increase in buying power!  It gives the unskilled and poorly skilled workers a false sense of improvement in their "situation" in life. Why spend your evenings in night school, why read to increase your knowledge, why study hard to graduate high school, or why show up to work on time when you perceive you are doing better because of
arbitrary government meddling in the markets. A minimum wage increase actual tends to lock these workers into a permanent low information underclass that pandering politicians can rely on for reelection.

9. What is so magical about $15 an hour? Why not make it $35 an hour? There are many more people who can live comfortably on $35 an hour than at $15? Furthermore, as life style "necessities" seem to increase much more rapidly employee skills, the demand for higher minimum wages will return again and again. Why not just make the minimum wage $1000 an hour and settle it once and for all. The uncomfortable truth for politicians is that $15 is an arbitrary figure pulled out of the air by activists who make a living stirring up unrest and discontent, rather than an amount dictated by the naturally occurring balance between supply and demand.

10. Neither the founding intent nor the constitution provides the authority for the government to meddle in setting wages in private business, determining what products are produced by private business, or what products consumers must buy. These actions are dictatorial socialism, certainly not the capitalism and free markets that have generated the greatest economic engine in the history of the world. With all its faults, capitalism remains the most successful economic system ever tried because it fosters the natural and logical balancing of supply and demand to determine fair wages and prices. Socialism on the other hand has an unblemished record of failure as power hungry politicians and business illiterate bureaucrats inevitably meddle in markets they don't understand to set values based on the arbitrary vested interests of favored cronies.

The bottom line on this massive increase in the minimum wage is that it is not the proper role of government. It is nothing more than cynical political pandering to the uninformed and will lead to dreadful declines in the standard of living for all Californians. Pay must be based on merit, not on desire!

A Great Human Being
081215

Years ago, a guy in a hoodie sat down next to me on a TWA flight out of St Louis. As he settled in, he lowered the hood and it was Mr. T. He took off all his bling and was trying to relax, but people kept coming up to him and asking for an autograph or to ask a question. We talked a little later in the flight and I asked him if it didn’t bother him. He told me he was from a very large family and his mother had told him that he had been very blessed and he owed it to share his good fortune with others. He said therefore he didn’t mind it at all.

It turned out that was the final flight for the TWA crew as they were being laid off when the flight landed in LA due to the merger with American Airlines. Mr. T found out and gathered the crew around him in the forward galley late in the flight and said a prayer for all them. It was an extremely moving moment and I’m sure it helped the crew immensely.

I have always remembered that day that I sat next to a great human being, not because he was a star, but because of how he treated others.

Why do California Democrats hate seniors and the poor?
071015

Why do California Democrats hate seniors and the poor?

Again Democrats are pushing through unwarranted and unwise increases in the minimum wage in California.

The basic economics of the Law of Supply and Demand show that as the price of any product (in this case labor) increases, demand falls. Thus there will be FEWER JOBS for the poor and those entering the job market.

An increase in the minimum wage also causes an artificially induced ripple of INCREASED INFLATION which hurts everyone but most of all those on fixed incomes like seniors and the poor.

A minimum wage increase makes those who do keep their jobs to have to WORK HARDER to cover those who were laid off.

In addition, a minimum wage increase hurts small business and small business owners where most jobs in the US are generated. They must raise their prices to cover the increases labor cost although they get no increase in productivity. They, therefore, become LESS COMPETITIVE and more jobs are lost.

Increasing the minimum wage makes the cost of AUTOMATION more attractive, again reducing the number of entry level jobs.

Increasing the minimum wage, furthermore, REMOVES INCENTIVES for the poor to work their way out of a permanent underclass. It is nothing more than a MALICIOUS FEEL GOOD SCAM to make them think they are better off, when in fact they are not.

Finally, UNSKILLED WORKERS are not worth $15 an hour. Enough floors cannot be swept or enough hamburgers stuffed in a bag to contribute $15 worth of value to the employer. In fact, the only one who can adequately balance labor costs/compensation, material cost, profitability, and taxes is the employer, not some fat cat union official or bloated government bureaucrat.

If Democrats really wanted to improve the economy and the plight of the poor, they would quit proposing arbitrary counter-productive laws and run away regulation. They would break the union strangle hold on education so that students would learn skills of value to employers which would generate higher wages. If they were really serious about the plight of low income workers, they would control the flood of illegal unskilled labor into the country, which increases the supply, thus suppresses wages. Finally, they would remove the burden of tax and spend big government which suppresses the economy and wages at all levels.

But Democrats will do none of these things, because they know their power comes from appealing to the uninformed with feel good, but counter-productive policies like increasing the minimum wage.

So why do Californians continue to elect Democrats who hate seniors and the poor?

Baghdad Barry (The Fall of Ramadi)
051815

Some of you who have not bought into Democrat revisionist history may remember Baghdad Bob (Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf). Bob, Saddam Hussein’s Minister of Information, became famous for his bold propaganda speeches about the invincibility of the Iraq army even as American tanks rolled down Baghdad streets nearby. His clown like pronouncements generated a good deal of mocking laughter in the US and around the world.

Now we have Baghdad ‘Bama who continues touting his many successes in Iraq even as another major Iraq city falls to the “second teamers” of ISIS. It will be interesting to see if Barack, like Bob, will take to the streets of Baghdad proclaiming victory in the face of humiliating defeat as the city falls into terrorist hands. Like Bob, however, Obama already has made a laughing stock of his country.

I guess when you lead from behind; even a rout can be called a triumphant charge!

Steps to Tyranny
050115

This is how tyranny begins.

Agitators stir up mob emotions to undermine respect for police and their authority. Eventually police stand down in the face of lawlessness lest they jeopardize their own freedom and careers.  Lawlessness and anarchy then reign, and citizens are willing to sacrifice their freedom to restore their safety. The result is a society where the lives of all citizens are a thousand times worse than before but no one dares to challenge the tyranny because they now have “social justice” rather than real justice and the rule of law.

“No justice, no peace” is a chant made by spoiled children of all ages who have never been exposed to the value of self discipline and personal responsibility. It never, never results in real justice, just chaotic mob rule and rush to judgment.

If “black lives matter”, as all lives do, then why are blacks so reluctant to address the rampant violence of black on black crime which is far more pervasive than any pattern of illegal police activity? Do police lives matter when they are stoned with a barrage of lethal projectiles?

Furthermore, it should be asked how did the rioting, looting, and burning in Baltimore improve the quality of life in the community? Does it encourage investment in the community? Do the celebrations of “social justice” rush to judgment contribute to the betterment of society?

Drug use and chronic truancy from school are choices made by individuals that lock them into the very situations that they are so quick to blame on others. These individual bad choices are fueled by the race hustlers including those in liberal government who make a handsome income off making people perceive they are perpetual victims of “the system”.

Police officer should be held accountable when they break the law but they should not be persecuted for doing their jobs or because a mob riots, a mayor stands down the police because it’s “just property”, and self made victims loudly shout “no peace, no justice”.

This historically is how tyranny begins and why tyranny and its associated misery have been so prevalent throughout the ages. It begins just like in Ferguson or Baltimore where the truth is immaterial; where police officers are guilty even when proven innocent.

The Fear of Winning
080914

American politicians never learn. They approach conflict in a "measured" fashion which is always perceived by our opponents as weakness which in turn invariably leads to costly ineffective escalation.

The right approach is to be strong enough to deter conflict before it starts. If the other side is still so foolish to proceed anyway, then the correct action is to decisively stomp them out before they get out of control and are far more costly to resolve.

Barack Obama's tepid response to ISIS should instead have been swift and decisive annihilation of these terrorist while they were in the open and over extended. Instead he thinks he can lob a few bombs for now and hope the enemy doesn't escalate, but they always do.

His weak actions are better than nothing and it's never too late to act, but I fear the real strategic objective of this administration is to distract from their other numerous scandals and policy failures, not to keep Americans safe by decisively winning the war with Islamic terrorists.

Obama's Military Genius
080814

I woke up this morning feeling pretty good that the president had finally stepped up to his role as commander in chief. Then I saw the sxxx eating grin on the face of the press secretary at today's news conference and realized this was just another cynical PR stunt. It was nothing more than the same old liberal strategy of "Lob a Bomb". No Americans at risk, no impact on the military outcome, but lots of PR to make the president look like a decisive leader.

Why would I say this about a commander in chief?

First it was too little too late. If he would have gotten off the golf course long enough to successfully negotiate a residual force agreement, none of this would be happening. If he had not made the military blunder of announce withdrawal dates to the enemy, none of this would be happening. If he was not in the middle of scrapping our military, none of this would be happening. If he had not stated emphatically that he would not involve US troops, the goons in Russia, ISIS and Africa would not be so brazen. If Obama had not drawn so many red lines just before he retreated, others might temper their actions somewhat because they knew he meant what he said. Now everyone knows that what Obama says today has nothing to do with what he will do tomorrow. He simply couldn't act before half of Iraq was lost.

Second, his actions were carefully calculated to balance between looking detached in the face of a Christian slaughter and offending his anti- military base by taking effective action.

Third, his actions were exactly what you would expect from a naive armchair general. ISIS has advanced faster than anyone thought possible. Since they have encountered no significant opposition, they raced forward over extending their supply lines and leaving their assets exposed in the open. The first strike should  have been a massive effort to annihilate ISIS and cripple their war machine. Instead, it was nothing more than an ineffective warning shot. ISIS now has been forewarned that they must take some precautions to avoid the nuisance attacks that Obama will stretch out to maximize the distraction from his other failures. They will now dig in and disperse their assets to protect them. The chance to catch them in the open was squandered.

Even the humanitarian air drop was another example of strategic incompetence. Only enough supplies were dropped to take care of one fourth those in peril. Now, military
transport crews will be at risk because ISIS is alerted that more drops are on the way.

Finally, this debacle is the direct result of Obama and his administration's weakness, incompetence, lack of military experience, and most of all their failure to recognize that we are in a full scale war with Islamic terrorists.

It pains me to challenge the president when US troops are in harm's way, but as with his other policies, he is blindly heading in the wrong direction. He was again indecisive when we needed strong, decisive leadership. He can pretend that the world is a more tranquil place and that terrorists are on the run, but that is not the real world the rest of us must live in.

Not speaking out would only encourage him to further folly putting us all at substantial risk.

I DON’T ……

I don’t want to hear about “choice” because the baby has none!

I don’t want to hear about unpatriotic corporations sending jobs overseas from the president who drives them there with wasteful government spending, high taxes, and over regulation, and who outsourced the Obamacare web site debacle to a foreign company with a long record of failure and ties to the president’s wife.

I don’t want to hear the border is secure as hundreds of thousands pour across it at the invitation of the president.

I don’t want to hear from a president who plays checkers in a world playing chess!

I don’t want to hear about voter suppression from a party that needs massive voter fraud to win elections!

And, finally,

I don’t want to hear about the “most transparent” administration from a corrupt government that has spent more time in cover ups and obfuscation than running the government and following the law!

Mr. Obama, You Don't Know

Mr. Obama, Please admit what is painfully obvious to the rest of us. You don't know what the hell you are doing.

You don't know how to run a government. You don't know how to be Commander in Chief. You don't understand basic economics and you don't respect the lessons of history. You don't understand your constitutional role or respect the rights of others. You don't play well with others and like a spoiled child, you demand your way and think your wants alone justify your actions.

You don't know how to manage effective diplomacy or power projection. Russia, Syria, and Iran openly mock your lead from behind, strength through weakness foreign policy. Your energy policy has more than doubled the price of fuel. Your laser like focus on jobs has killed employment for millions of Americans. You think your faculty lounge socialist policies will fix health care, the economy, and our security but in every case they have had just the opposite effect.

Because you don't know what you are doing, you get bored with the details of running government, seek other distractions, blame others, and give boring speeches filled with meaningless platitudes. Your most transparent administration has a record number of scandals and scandal cover ups. The American people and leaders around the world do not trust you because you have boldly lied so often.

An honorable man with your record would resign in disgrace to save the republic, but then again you have shown no comprehension of the concept of honor or duty.
